About Me.

Hi, I’m Kay LaCoe. Public relations, awareness, and education is my lane. If you need people to see it, hear it, and care about it, that’s what I do.

For 20+ years I’ve built communications, public education, and marketing campaigns that take complex, messy issues and make them clear, relatable, and worth paying attention to. I spent 15+ years leading strategic initiatives for North Dakota’s coal industry before stepping out of the executive suite to launch LaCoe Solutions, LLC.

Now, I partner with organizations that need smart, steady, senior-level support without the overhead of a full-time executive. My work spans:

✅Designing and leading public education and awareness campaigns
✅Developing messaging and content strategies that fit real-world capacity
✅Advising nonprofits, associations, and businesses on communications and outreach
✅Turning “we don’t know where to start” into “we’ve got a clear plan forward”

I hold a Master’s in Organizational Leadership and a Bachelor’s in Business Communications...you could say I took my B.S. to a whole new level. I’m a strategist who can write the speech, build the website, and figure out the tech behind it. Creative and operations, big picture and detail - those get me going in the morning.

Right now, I’m enjoying the flexibility of consulting, but I’m also open to the right long-term fit with a mission-driven organization. Call it the next evolution of Career Kay 2.0...it's still loading.

When I’m not working, you’ll find me on the road with my horses, competing in Cowboy Mounted Shooting with my horses Gin and Chaser. I’ve been married 20+ years to a very supportive husband, we have an adult son, and three Chesapeake Bay Retrievers who think they’re in charge.
